APTITUDE TEST SYLLABUS
Freehand
drawing
This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total
object in its right form and proportion,surface texture,relative location and
details of its component parts in appropriate scale.Common domestic or
day-to-day life usable objects like furniture,equipment,etc.,from memory.
Geometrical drawing Exercises in geometrical drawing
containing lines,angles,triangles,quadrilaterals,polygons,circles,etc.Study of
plan(top view),elevation(font or side views)of simple solid objects like
prisms,cones,cylinders,cubes,splayed surface holders,etc.
Three-dimensional perception Understanding and appreciation
of three-dimensional forms with building elements,colour,volume and
orientation.Visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity Composition exercise
with given elements.Context mapping.Creativity check through innovative
uncommon test with familiar objects.Sense of colour grouping or
application.Architectural awareness General interest and awareness of famous
architectural creations-both national and international,places and
personalities(architects,designers,etc)in the related domain.

APTITUDE TEST B.ARCH/B.PLANNING
Part –I
Awareness of persons,places,Buildings,Materials
Objects,Texture related to Architecture and
build-environment.Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional
drawings.Visualising,different sides of three dimensional objects,Analytical
Reasoning Mental Ability(Visual,Numerical and Verbal)
Part-II
Three dimensional-perception:Understanding and appreciation of scale and
proporetion of objects,building forms and elements,colour texture,harmony and
contrast.Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and atterns in
pencil.Transformation of forms both 2D and 3D
union,subtraction,rotation,development of surfaces and volumes,Generation of
Plan,elevations and 3D views of objects.Creating two dimensional and three
dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of
urbanscape(public space,market,festivals,street scenes,monuments,recreational
spaces etc.),landscape(river fronts,jungles,gardens trees,plants etc.)and rural
life.
Note:Candidates are advised to bring pencils,own geometry
box set,erasers and colour pencils and crayons for the Aptitude Test.
